Dr. Zoran Djordjevich, fondly known as “Dr. George” by clients and staff, hails from Yugoslavia. His veterinary aspirations sprouted during his childhood on a farm. Dr. Djordjevich earned his veterinary medical degree from the University of Belgrade in 1990 and underwent further training at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. He is renowned for his innovative approaches and techniques, significantly enhancing veterinary surgery.
Dr. Djordjevich is particularly recognized for being the first veterinarian in the U.S. to implant the Helica Total Hip Replacement (THR) Systems’ smallest acetabular 24 mm screw cup implant in June 2010, now the nationally accepted standard for the Helica procedure. Since joining Mohnacky Animal Hospital (MAH) of Carlsbad in 1998, he has consistently supported animal rescue groups and other animal welfare organizations. His interests outside work include soccer, tennis, and table tennis. He is a member of the AVMA, CVMA, and SDCVMA with a special interest in orthopedic surgery and natural approaches to veterinary medicine.
